Jonathan David Bennett wurde am 10. Juni 1981 in Rossford, Ohio, als Sohn von David Bennett, einem Arzt aus Toledo, Ohio, und Ruthanne Bennett geboren. Er hat zwei Halbbrüder, Brian und Brent, und eine Halbschwester, Lisa.
Bennett besuchte die Eagle Point Elementary School in Rossford, Ohio, und schloss 1999 die Rossford High School ab. Bennett besuchte die Otterbein University.
Bennett ist offen schwul. Am 30. November 2020 bestätigten Vertreter von Bennett, dass er mit dem Amazing Race-Kandidaten und aktuellen Celebrity Page-Moderator, Jaymes Vaughan verlobt sei, der ihr am Set von The Christmas House mit einem Originalsong einen Heiratsantrag gemacht hatte. Im März 2022 heiratete das Paar im Unico Riviera Maya Hotel in Mexiko.
