Done.
@Bripretti It's a poll based on opinions.
They're far from unique in that regard. Plenty of shows have characters that come and go. Sometimes, actors who were available end up getting jobs that don't allow them to be available anymore or move out of the area or even leave acting entirely.
I'm really not sure what your point is.
Still not certain. Could be. Could also not be.
The show hasn't stated that and usually, that's something they would say.
They write new characters as they have a need for them and they haven't had a need for more plastic surgeons? And Monica hasn't been said to be head of peds. Just a pediatric surgeon.
Keeping a consistent timeline is not one of the writers' strong suits, but she was 6 months old in early-to-mid 2011, so she's ~13 now.
Sorry. I just unlocked the page. Before the seasons start airing, we keep it admin-only to avoid rumors being added. But it's open to registered users now.
No problem.
@Gingersbatman Her name is spelled Sofia. Plus Arizona explicitly stated that she legally adopted Sofia. And parental behavior is not considered in custody cases except in ways that affecting parenting. Which this didn’t.
They are not. When Megan came back with Farouk, she said they were a pandemic casualty.
@Bripretti Thank you. That's why we did this whole series, to make people feel seen and heard.
(I get notified for every post.)
I think they gave up on the timeline by about the fourth episode. They never let logic get in the way of good storytelling. Most of it goes unnoticed, but there are some times where it really stands out. We have a whole section about "errors" on the timeline page.
Not an entire year for sure. New interns normally start on July 1 and we know this group started later than that because the program had to be rebuilt. And then Simone's wedding was supposed to be, I believe in June, but they moved it up to be even sooner than that. So it started after July and ended before the following June. But I'm the first to tell you that the timeline of the Grey's Anatomy Universe rarely, if ever, makes any sense, so who knows where they'll be when season twenty starts.
Both the WGA (the writers) and SAG-AFTRA (actors) are currently on strike. They are not working on the new seasons yet because of that. When we have more information, it’ll be on the pages for season twenty of Grey’s Anatomy and season seven of Station 19.
Well, folks. It's August 1, so Disability Pride Month is officially over. But don't fret, we're proud of you every day of the year and hope that you keep that pride and joy running every month of the year.
To help keep that joy running, here are some links to disability etiquette guides. Above all, remember to take the lead from the person you're speaking with as to how to refer to them as some people may prefer different language from what well-intentioned guides may suggest.
Disability Etiquette: A Starting Guide
Disability Etiquette: Tips for Interacting with People with Disabilities
And here is the first post in a series by a disabled person about some of the ways you might be "accidentally ableist." Note that this is the only one of these links that we were able to confirm was written by an actually disabled person, as it's one person's point of view rather than the point of view of an institution.
Let's talk about language! How to avoid being accidentally ablest
Ableism is in a lot of ways, baked into the cake, so it's important to take time to unlearn the language and habits that we have that negative impact those around us. And as always, if you see something we think we could be doing better in order to be more inclusive, please feel free to let us know.

It depends on where in the season they are. This season is being heavily affected by the strikes, so this does not apply to this season, but typically, they start filming in mid-July to start airing in late September/early October. Filming for Grey's usually goes to late April/early May, with the finale in late May/early June. Station 19 usually wraps filming a few weeks before Grey's Anatomy. There's been at least one case where the episode was not complete until the day it aired (it was pulled day-of to have a song swapped out), but that was very late in the season. Usually, they are a few episodes ahead of where the viewers are. They also only take a handful of days off as a holiday break, while episodes may not air for two months or more mid-season. So obviously they get more ahead during that time.
