Adam and his ex-wife, Sonya, were having a secret affair. While they were having sex, her IUD became caught on his new penis piercing and they became stuck together. They used x-ray imaging to see how they were hooked and they manually separated them. Just as they were separated, Adam had a heart attack and his aorta dissected.
Despite not being fully back after his injury, Burke was called in to operate on Adam. The surgery went well and they were able to repair his dissection. His daughter was told that he was stable, but the next few days would be critical.
