Amelie Ward is the mother of a baby who was diagnosed in utero with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and an intact septum.

During a pre-natal visit, Amelie and Chris's son was diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and an intact atrial septum. They were advised that he would need surgery immediately after birth or he would die. Amelie had a scheduled c-section in the cath lab and their son was immediately taken into surgery. After surgery, the baby was doing well.
