Audra McDonald played Naomi Bennett from season one to season four of Private Practice. She reprised her role in the series finale, In Which We Say Goodbye. She also appeared in the season five Grey's Anatomy episode Before and After

Audra was born in Germany and raised in Fresno, California. She graduated from the Juilliard School for the Performing Arts in 1993 but almost didn't because of her lack of interest in classical music, but with the help of a fellow student, impressed her teachers and went on to become a huge Broadway star. Her husband Peter Donovan also graduated from Juilliard, where they met. Audra has won six Tony Awards in 11 years, making her the recipient of more Tony's than anyone else. In 2009, she won Grammys in the Best Classical Album category and the Best Opera Recording category for her work in Weill: Rise And Fall Of The City Of Mahagonny.
