Bill Adams was a patient at Seattle Grace Hospital and friend of Preston Burke.

Abdominal Pain[]
Bill came to Seattle Grace Hospital abdominal pain and blood in his urine. After an endoscopy, Burke ordered a biopsy and discovered that Bill had an ovary. Bill went into surgery to have it removed, but another doctor noted that the Holly's baby couldn't possibly be his because he had blind vas deferens. Burke confronted Holly and she said if Burke was a good friend then he wouldn't tell Bill that she had cheated on him but Burke told him he was sterile anyway, owing it to him as a doctor.
Burke and Cristina's Wedding[]
Bill was supposed to be Burke's best man, but he couldn't make it to the wedding. ("Testing 1-2-3")

Holly Adams[]
Bill married a woman named Holly Adams. Sometime during the marriage, she got pregnant but when Bill was admitted to Seattle Grace Hospital, the surgeons discovered that the baby wasn't his.
Burke confronted Holly about the affair but she told him it was none of his business and although Bill didn't know, they were happy and as a friend, Burke shouldn't tell him. Burke tells him as his doctor, leaving the fate of their marriage in question.

He and Burke went to the same college and were in the same frat. Although Burke and Bill's relationship with Holly was left in doubt, Burke and Bill remained friends. Bill was chosen as Burke's best man for the wedding, but he couldn't come, so Burke chose Derek Shepherd.
