Brooke Hill is the biological sister of Jack Gibson.
History[]
Meeting Jack[]
As an adult, Brooke found out that she and her siblings had another brother whom their parents had placed for adoption after they conceived him in high school. Her brother, Joshua Hill, met him, but after an afternoon together, Jack decided he didn't want to get to know the rest of the family.
Months later, Brooke came to the clinic at Station 19 with an envelope. She was mistaken for a clinic patient, so she claimed she was having pain while urinating. Dayna Rutledge and Peggy Knox showed her to an exam room and gave her a cup to provide a urine sample. They also shared their experience getting chlamydia in college. At this point, Carina stepped in and directed Brooke to the bathroom.
Instead of going to the bathroom, Brooke stood outside the exam room where Jack was getting checked out by Ben and eavesdropped on their conversation. When Jack left the room, he ran into Brooke. Carina then found her and directed her again to the bathroom.
Brooke's tests for pregnancy and a UTI came back negative. Carina saw that she didn't seem as relieved as women in her position usually were, so she asked if that was the real reason for her visit. Brooke asked, but already knew, if you should respect the boundaries someone has put into place. Then she asked Carina to deliver the envelope she had with her before leaving. The envelope was addressed to Jack and had a note with her number saying that her parents had kept Jack's baby picture. ("Pick Up The Pieces")
Jack later called Brooke and made plans to take her to a coffee shop so they could talk. ("We Build Then We Break")
Motorcycle Accident[]
Brooke and her friend Clara came into the station together after being in a motorcycle crash. They'd done edibles earlier in the day, but believed they'd worn off before they started driving. A driver ahead of them was going too slow, so Clara decided to ride between two cars. The other driver didn't see them and tried to merge, forcing Clara to swerve. They fishtailed and crashed, injuring both Brooke and Clara. Because lane splitting is illegal in Washington and they were intoxicated, they went to the station and refused to go to the hospital, even after being told they needed additional care. Brooke got upset when Jack lectured her about being unsafe and tried to ban Clara from being her friend. However, when Clara passed out due to abdominal bleeding, Brooke rode with them to the hospital, where she and Clara both got treated. After that, Brooke went back to the station, where she asked Jack to start over, because she wanted to know if he was the missing piece that made her feel so out of place in her family. Surprising Jack[]
Jack agreed to take half a shift off to meet another one of his sisters at Brooke's request. When they arrived at Joe's together, Brooke surprised him by revealing that the sister in question was actually his sister, Lila, from whom he'd been separated after their parents died in a house fire. ("All These Things That I've Done")

She was raised with two sisters and one brother. Her father was a school superintendent and her mom a teacher. When she was an adult, she found out that she had an older brother her parents had placed for adoption when they were in high school. ("The Road You Didn't Take")
