Carmen Alvarez is the mother of Enzo Alvarez.
History[]
Carmen was on vacation in Seattle with her son, Enzo, when he suddenly became very sleepy and lethargic. She rushed him to the hospital, where he was treated for an overdose, later attributed to fentanyl. After watching her son get treated, Carmen fainted in the ER. They ran a tox screen on her and it was negative, so they believed she'd fainted from the stress. Carmen was questioned by Child Protective Services, though there was communication difficulties because Carmen only speaks Spanish and the investigator English. After the investigation, Carmen was arrested. Benson, not believing she'd drugged her child, asked her if she'd ever left him unsupervised, even for a minute. She said she'd taken a shower. They went to their rental, where they found fentanyl in a drawer, left by a previous occupant. Once she was cleared, she was reunited with her son.
