Charlie Scott is a patient who was injured while bungee jumping.
History[]
Charlie was bungee jumping off a bridge as part of a climate change protest when the rope broke, sending him into a car below, driven by Ian. Ian drove to the hospital with Charlie in the windshield. While they waited for the fire department to come extract him, they assessed his injuries and secured his airway. Once he was extracted, they moved him to the ER, which showed multiple fractures to his clavicle, ribs, and sternum. His left index finger had also been amputated. They wanted to get a CT before taking him to surgery, but he became unstable, so they moved him directly to the OR. They struggled to find the source of the bleeding in his chest, so Richard suggested the subclavian vein. He was correct and they had to make another incision to repair it. His finger was located, but by that point, too much time had passed and Link closed the wound with a flap instead of attempting to re-attach it. He was stable in the ICU after his surgery.
Notes and Trivia[]
- He was 29 at the time of his surgery.
