Cristina and Owen started looking for properties when Callie and Arizona wanted them to move out of the apartment Cristina and Callie had shared. While Owen saw the potential, Cristina seemed less enthusiastic. However, she went and bought it behind his back as a surprise. While she didn't care where they ended up, she knew he loved the fire house the most.^[source?]

Cristina, having quit the program at the time, organized a housewarming party with the help of Callie. However, when Derek informed her that Owen, Meredith, and Teddy were planning to use the party to talk her into coming back to work, Cristina ditched the party herself, leaving Callie with the host responsibilities. Cristina and Derek spent the evening drinking and talking on the roof.

Sale

After Cristina left for Minnesota, Owen also vacated the house. Upon her return, he told her she could sell it since it was her property. She did so and started to rent a room in Alex's house.^[source?]
