Mom's Surgery[]
His mom had surgery on her back to correct her scoliosis. When she was being discharged, Callie asked Drew to be extra gentle with his mommy for a few days. As they were leaving the hospital, Laura collapsed and had to be taken into a trauma room.
Drew waited with his father in the waiting room while his mom was taken into surgery. One of the screws from her back surgery had come loose and punctured her heart. Teddy operated and was able to repair the damage.

Drew's mother was hospitalized for back surgery. The day she was released, she had to be taken back into surgery to repair damage to her heart. Her second surgery was successful and she was awake after surgery and Drew was in her bed next to her, coloring.
