Snuffy Souza is a retired firefighter who worked with Pruitt.

History[]

Fire at Sandra's House[]

When Andy was a child, her aunt's house caught on fire. Snuffy and the rest of station 19 responded to the call. They quickly put out the fire. ("Louder Than a Bomb")

Training Andy[]

When Andy was harassed by a boy at school, Elena arranged for her to start training with Snuffy, an MMA fighter. He taught her how to punch and helped her build strength. These lessons continued through Andy's high school years. ("When the Party's Over")

Cheering Andy Up[]

After Andy was told her mother had died and had to stop seeing her aunt, uncle, and cousin to keep the truth away from her, she was on the couch at the station one day very sad. Snuffy came in and cheered her up, putting on salsa music and dancing to it poorly, prompting her to start dancing herself, telling him she knows she's better than he is. ("Wild World")

Pruitt's Death[]

Snuffy, Captain Lawrence, and Charlie Irwin came to Station 19 with Pruitt to tell stories to the current team and play cards. When part of the team was called out to free people trapped in a storage unit, they grabbed the radio and listened to see how well trained the team was. They discussed every call any of them made, as the call progressed from trapped civilians to a fire. When they heard over the radio that several firefighters became trapped in the storage facility and were running out of air, Pruitt abruptly got up and left. They continued to listen to the radio and heard that Pruitt was going up to ventilate the roof, knowing that once he did, he would fall into the fire. Lawrence told Irwin to prepare to sound the 20 bells. Irwin pointed out that Pruitt was retired, but Lawrence countered that dying ventilating a roof sure sounds like firefighting. Irwin sounded the bells. ("I'll Be Seeing You")

Andy's Investigation[]

After Pruitt died, Andy was looking through her things and wondered if her parents were truly happy together and if her father was good to her mother. She called Snuffy to ask him about this, but he advised her to stop looking into it and let her father rest in peace. ("Bad Guy")

Pruitt's Funeral[]

Snuffy attended Pruitt's funeral, which was streamed online due to safety regulations concerning the coronavirus pandemic. ("Nothing Seems the Same")
