Firefighters Ball

The Firefighters Ball is a ball for firefighters where Ben Warren was honored with a medal of valor.

Timeline[]

While at the hospital visiting Milo, whom Ben had rescued from a fire, Ben got a call from Ross, saying he was going to be honored with a medal of valor. ("Dirty Laundry") Soon after that, Ben was invited to the firefighters' ball. ("All These Things That I've Done")

At the ball, the firefighters mingled and big on items in a silent auction. Jack ended up talking to one of the servers, Nanette, who was pregnant. Kitty Dixon then had Jack come into the kitchen because they smelled something burning. Jack looked and when he saw smoke, he said everyone had to get out of the kitchen. He called Andy in and they founds signs of fire in the walls, so they decided to open the walls to find it and turn off the electricity for the building. They also called for backup. They found and contained the fire, then started to search for the source.

Since Bailey and Ben had to get on a flight to Boston, Bailey decided not to wait and Bailey got on stage and presented the medal to Ben herself, then they left.

Andy and Drew Farris found the source of the fire and determined that the building wasn't up to code and they needed to shut off the power. When the ceiling started to crumble, they realized they needed to evacuate the ballroom above them. Before they could do so, the floor collapsed and several people fell into the hole that was created, including Nanette, who had gone into labor. Andy directed all the firefighters in the ballroom to help gather supplies and asked those who were there as dates to leave and give them room to work. She had Carina set up a triage area while they worked to get people out. Once Nanette was out, they took her to the kitchen, where Carina did an emergency c-section. Once she was finished, they loaded the baby and Nanette into an aid car. They also got Kate Powell and Natasha Ross out of the hole. Michael Dixon was trapped under a slab of concrete. They were able to get him out, but he coded and was unable to be resuscitated. After everyone had been rescued from the hole and the injured were taken to the hospital, Jack collapsed on the floor and the team jumped in to help him. ("Glamorous Life")
