Gladys's daughter, Lila, was getting married when Gladys collapsed at the start of the ceremony. She was rushed to the hospital and had surgery. She survived the surgery and when Lila and Jacob, her fiancé, visited her in her hospital room, she insisted that the wedding should go on. The wedding commenced and Gladys watched on a tablet.
