Jaina Lee Ortiz plays Andy Herrera on Station 19. Her character was first introduced in the season fourteen Grey's Anatomy episode You Really Got a Hold on Me and she also appeared in season fifteen of Grey's Anatomy.

  • She was the first confirmed cast member for Station 19.
  • When she was younger, she wanted to own her own dance studio. She was really into salsa and was a professional salsa dancer until around the age of 20. She taught workshops at salsa conventions.
  • Her hero is Oprah Winfrey.
  • She met two female firefighters through her father and did a ride-along. She also did the candidate physical ability test and passed.
  • She sees a lot of herself in Miranda Bailey.
  • She loves every character in This Is Us.
  • If she could have dinner with a TV character, she'd pick Michael Scott from The Office. She thinks he'd really make her laugh.
  • She usually loves to do her own stunts, but with the gear and the real fire, she's also not shy to use her stunt double.
  • She auditioned for a role on Shondaland's For the People. She didn't get the role but Shonda loved her and they wanted to include her on the Grey's Anatomy spin-off that didn't have a title or even a written script at the time.
