James Pickens, Jr. plays Richard Webber on Grey's Anatomy. His character also appeared in seasons one and two of Private Practice, seasons four and five of Station 19, as well as in Seattle Grace: Message of Hope and Grey's Anatomy: B-Team. As of season twenty-one, he is also a co-executive producer of the show.
Biography[]
James was born in Cleveland, Ohio. While a student at Bowling Green State University, he began acting. His first acting role was in a campus production of Matters of Choice by Chuck Gordone. Pickens earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from BGSU in 1976.[source?]
