Jennifer Stanley is the Head of Pathology at Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital.
History[]
Dr. Jennifer Stanley was the pathologist assigned to the Mary Portman case. Due to the unknown complication that lead to Mary's permanent coma and subsequent multiple organ failure after her standard colostomy reversal, Dr. Miranda Bailey was anxious to identify the proper cause of death and assisted Dr. Stanley with the autopsy.
Although Dr. Bailey wanted to do a specific approach with the autopsy, Dr. Stanley informed her about following the standard methodology, much to her chagrin. As they continued with the autopsy, Dr. Stanley's patience was tested as Dr. Bailey questioned her approach, her assessment on postmortem clots, her decision to take a lunch break, and her refusal to cut into the brain. Not holding it against Dr. Bailey, Dr. Stanley calmly asserted her expertise in this field, and that performing autopsies was what she did all day, every day.
Dr. Stanley expressed that it was unfortunate the results were inconclusive, and that she hated it as much as Dr. Bailey did.

Dr. Jennifer Stanley is the Head of Pathology at Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital. She mostly practices in the basement of the hospital as that is where the morgue is located.
Her most recent case was Mary Portman's autopsy which proved inconclusive. The case was assisted by Dr. Miranda Bailey.
