When Gary Clark sued the hospital and Derek Shepherd, the hospital hired Lauren to defend the hospital. She came to Derek and told him that Clark didn't have a case and that Derek should refer to Alison only as "the patient" during his deposition. When Derek apologized during the deposition, she chastised him, warning him not to give Clark a case.
