Liam DeLuca-Bishop is the son of Maya Bishop and Carina DeLuca.
History[]
Birth[]
Liam was born via emergency c-section at the Firefighters Ball after his birth mother, Nanette, fell into a hole in the floor and was seriously injured. After his birth, they were both taken to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. ("Glamorous Life")
Nanette did not survive her injuries, leaving Liam in limbo as she'd been planning to place him for adoption, but hadn't chosen parents for him. Chef Wolf, who had worked with Nanette for a few years, came to the hospital and declared his intent to adopt Liam. However, after filling out some paperwork and answering some questions, Wolf backed out, deciding he wasn't ready to be a father. Instead, Maya Bishop and Carina DeLuca decided to step in, stating that they were ideal candidates for an emergency foster placement as a paramedic and doctor. ("This Woman's Work")
Maya and Carina put in their emergency foster application and soon after, got word that they'd been accepted and were able to foster Liam. They brought him to the station for Jack's goodbye dinner, where they introduced him to the team. ("Good Grief")
Later, Liam went with Carina to Ben and Bailey's house as the movers were in the apartment and Carina didn't him around the dust. At the end of the day, Carina took Liam home to their new house, where Maya joined them and they danced together in Liam's room. ("True Colors")
Car Accident and Pinning Ceremony[]
Liam was with Carina, leaving her first IVF appointment, when Carina witnessed a car accident. Carina had Charles watch Liam and try to keep him calm while she tended to the injured. After they were taken to the hospital, Carina went back to Liam and told him she wished he could have met his Zio Andrea, as he would have loved him. Liam and Carina then went to Station 19, where Carina changed out of her bloodied clothes and they waited for Maya. They then attended Andy's pinning ceremony. ("My Way")
Future[]
Liam's moms later had two more children: Andrea and Gianna. They were photographed as a family of four and then one of five by Peggy Knox and Dayna Rutledge. ("One Last Time")
Relationships[]
Familial[]
His birth mother had planned to place him for adoption, but hadn't yet chosen parents for him when she fell into a hole in the floor while working and was fatally injured. ("Glamorous Life") After her death, his birth mother's co-worker initially wanted to adopt him, but changed his mind and instead, Carina DeLuca and Maya Bishop decided to adopt him. ("This Woman's Work")
Liam's social worker located his birth father, who met with Maya and Carina and said he wanted to be involved in Liam's life, but didn't want custody, allowing them to adopt him. ("Ushers of the New World")
