Lieutenant Cooper was a lieutenant at station 88.

History[]

Lieutenant Cooper led his team to a training simulator, where they would be competing against station 19 to practice essential firefighting skills. Among Cooper's team was Firefighter James, a probie. Station 19 arrived first after being called, giving them an early lead. They did timed runs and James briefly got lost in the simulator, but Cooper found him and they completed the drill two minutes faster than station 19. The two stations decided to bet on the outcome of the drill, with the losers paying for the winners' drinks. During the final phase in the simulator, Cooper and James went two on two against Andy and Ben, with a single dummy in the simulator to be rescued, with the winning team being the one that retrieved it. James and Cooper found the dummy, but an unexpected explosion knocked them both over before they could rescue it. James found Cooper, who was unconscious, and called for help. Beckett ordered Andy and Ben to bring them out, which they did with help from their team. James was given oxygen while Cooper was taken to the hospital with a head injury. He later died at the hospital.
