The lightning storm is a storm that spread through Seattle, starting a fire at Meredith's House.

Timeline[]

On the day of Vic's fire camp for teen girls, Theo noted that there was lightning in the area, though Vic was sure it was far enough away not to pose a threat to the camp. However, as the storm moved closer, they were forced to locate to inside the barn. Soon after that, the team was called out, leaving Vic to run the camp with help from Jack.

Station 19 went to find a helicopter that had crashed after being struck by lightning. Beckett urged the team to work quickly as the storm put them at additional risk as they worked. They assessed Jonathan Bright, a reporter, and his producer, Isabel, then focused on the pilot, Omar, who had landed so he took the brunt of the impact. Before they could get him out, he died of his injuries. They were then able to get Isabel out to safety, but in order to avoid paralyzing Jonathan, Ben said they needed to remove his entire seat. They did so and loaded Jonathan and the seat onto a gurney.

Back at the station, Vic's camp was interrupted when Enzo Lim knocked on the barn door. His wife and two children had been struck by lightning and he drove them to the station to get help. Ross called for more aid cars, but they were out, so Vic had the campers help resuscitate their patients. Once they were stable, they were loaded into aid cars and taken to the hospital. ("Everybody Says Don't")

At the hospital, Teddy cautioned the staff to stay inside the building during the storm. They received Jonathan when he arrived at the ER and began treating his injuries. They also treated other patients with storm-related injuries.

Meredith's house was struck by lightning, starting a fire. Station 19 was called out to respond to the fire. Maggie, Winston, and the kids were evacuated safely and then the firefighters worked on tackling the flames. ("Thunderstruck") After some time, they fire was put out, but there was significant damage to the house. Meredith brought her kids to the station with cookies to thank them. ("We Build Then We Break")
