Lily and her friend, Micah, were meeting in real life after meeting online. They went on a jet ski with Micah driving and Lily on the back. Lily fell off, but Micah didn't notice. Lily was seriously injured when the jet of water ripped through her pelvis. She was taken to the hospital, where she had surgery. She refused to call her parents as she thought they were just trying to control her, but while she was unconscious after surgery, Micah unlocked her phone so the hospital could call them.
