History[]
Liz worked at a factory that melted down old batteries to recycle them. One morning, the engineer, Raphael, didn't come to work, but the management told her to start the process anyway, even though he was the only person capable of overriding the system. When something went wrong, trapping eight workers in a room that was filling with acid. Liz called for help. Station 19 responded and she explained the situation, saying they had no way of overriding the system and all the doors and windows were reinforced to prevent people outside from being exposed to the chemicals inside. While Theo and Vic attempted to get a vent on the roof, Maya and Travis tried to cut through the doors. When Ross realized the missing engineer was the subject of a Crisis One call, she had them bring him to the plant, where he used his palm print to open the doors, allowing them to evacuate the workers. Once they were outside, they were given oxygen. Liz felt guilty for starting the process without Raphael, even though management had made the call to do so. When she saw Raphael, she apologized for starting without him. He told her it wasn't his fault and promised to spend the time he had left making it right.
