Lupe is a child whose house caught on fire.
History[]
Lupe and her family were home when a fire started in their house. When firefighters arrived, they were still inside the house because Lupe's parents, Mari and Julio, were struggling to try to evacuate Julio's mother while Lupe watched. The firefighters quickly got them out of the house and began treating them for smoke inhalation. Abuela reminded the family of when they had termites and said a fire was nothing compared to that. Julio was upset and said they shouldn't have stayed. Mari said it was their home and he reminded her that their house was going to be foreclosed on. And they worked so hard only to lose their house anyway. Lupe pleaded with the firefighters to save their house. Mari then realized the family Bible was still inside the house. It had all their birth records and citizenship paperwork. Theo said he'd go in and get it, but when Beckett told him he couldn't, Mari ran in herself. Theo and Travis both followed her and they all became trapped in the basement when there was an explosion in the house. Theo was able to locate an egress window and broke the glass to get them some fresh air while they waited for the firefighters outside to cut the bars covering the window and rescue them. Once Mari was out, she was reunited with her family and then given oxygen as she was loaded into an aid car. Before they left, Theo brought her the family's Bible. Mari thanked him.
