Marissa came to the hospital with her best friend, Danny, after he was injured in a bus crash. She was nervous when he had to be taken into surgery.
After he came out of surgery, she asked if she could see him and was told he had hadn't woken up yet. He was in a coma, but they couldn't tell her that. She later asked if she could just see him, even though his parents hadn't arrived yet. Derek sat her down and told her that Danny wouldn't be waking up. She later sat by his bedside, waiting for his parents to arrive.
