While she was having an interlude in an on-call room with Richard Webber, Ellis Grey was interrupted by a knock at the door. When she answered it, she found Martin Vance, the Chief of Surgery. He informed her that the Grey Method had been placed on the short list for the Harper Avery Award and that the board wanted to see her.
