Early Life[]
Internship at Grey Sloan[]
The day after a tornado hit Seattle, Mika started off her internship at Grey Sloan. Soon after arriving, she was approached by fellow intern Jules Millin, who recognized her from the interviews. Together, they set out to find scrubs and the locker room and Jules immediately confessed she had already accidentally slept with an attending. In the locker room, Mika met Benson Kwan and Lucas Adams, who tried to make conversation with the other interns. Benson shut him down and commented on his not being much competition. Mika told Lucas not to worry and revealed that Jules had already slept with an attending, much to Jules's dismay. The group then headed out to meet interim Chief Meredith Grey for her opening speech in the OR. Simone Griffith arrived late, prompting Meredith to advise the interns to learn how to expect the unexpected.
Afterward, Amelia Shepherd took the group of interns to the ICU to examine an inordinate number of patients who suffered catastrophic brain injury when the tornado blew a bus off of a cliff. Mika commented "organpalooza" upon hearing there were nine potential organ donors among the patients. Amelia pointed out how inappropriate that was and forbade her from talking. Mika stated she has a dark sense of humor and tried to apologize but Amelia wouldn't have it.[3]
