Nancy is a worker at a crisis pregnancy center.
History[]
Nancy was working at a crisis pregnancy center that was intentionally named similarly to the Elena Bailey Memorial Clinic for Reproductive Health with the intent of confusing patients who were seeking care. She called back Carina DeLuca, who was posing as a pregnant woman seeking an abortion while Ben posed as her husband and Bailey as her supportive friend.
Nancy took them back to a room where she said they could talk about options once they confirmed pregnancy. She gave Carina a cup to collect her urine. When she returned, she administered the test, then handed it to Carina to read the results. It said pregnant and Nancy congratulated her, then left to get more information. She returned with pictures that showed the size of an embryo for each week of pregnancy. Bailey asked how far along Carina was, but Nancy said it was hard to be exact. Carina re-iterated that she wanted an abortion and Ben said he wanted what she wanted. Nancy then said there were studies being conducted investigating the link between abortions and an increased risk of developing cancer. Bailey then revealed that she was a doctor and there was no such link. Nancy tried to get her to leave, but Carina wanted her to stay. Nancy offered to show Carina how much support the clinic was willing to offer.
They went to a room that was full of baby supplies and promised to help them with whatever they needed for the first year of the baby's life. Carina then said not everyone wants to have children. Nancy offered adoption as an alternative, but Ben said the foster care system was already overwhelmed and asked if Nancy every checked on any of the kids she was forcing women to have. Carina added that the US had the highest maternal mortality rate of any high-income country. Nancy never even checked if Carina had a previous problem with a pregnancy or had another health condition that might make it dangerous. As an OB, Carina has seen women bleed out because of such conditions. Nancy told them everything they were doing was legal and if they didn't like it, to contact their congressperson. Ben was even angrier to learn the clinic was tax-funded and asked how Nancy could just lie to people. Nancy said she cared about life, then called security to remove them.
