Nancy Mercer was one of the participants in the domino kidney transplant. She donated her kidney to Sally Chen.
History[]
Nancy's husband, Stan, was in chronic renal failure secondary to high blood pressure. In order for him to receive a kidney transplant, they both joined a domino kidney transplant. Nancy donated a kidney to Sally Chen and in exchange, Stan received a kidney from P.J. Walling.
Prior to the transplants, Nancy found out that Stan was having an affair with Lindsay Herman. She temporarily backed out, but once she realized how many other people were affected, she re-joined the exchange. After her surgery, she refused to see Stan, but was taken to visit Sally Chen and her family instead.

She is married to Stan Mercer. She always knew he was cheating on her, but she thought it was just sex. When she found out they'd been together for three years and she was giving a kidney for him, she realized that it wasn't and decided to leave Stan.
