Neil Delhom is a man with terminal cancer who was desperate to stay alive long enough to meet his daughter.
History[]
Neil had cancer that started in his abdomen, but spread to his liver and lungs. His wife was pregnant and he needed to live for six more weeks so he could meet his daughter.
Neil's labs showed that he likely only had a few weeks, but Gabriel Fife suggested some new therapies in order to give him a few extra weeks to give him a chance to meet his baby. He proposed inserting a device into Neil's abdomen to heat up the tumor.
Gabriel and Pete implanted the device and Neil woke up in extreme pain from hand-foot syndrome. Margaret wanted to stop, but Neil insisted he didn't care about the side effects as long as it kept him alive. However, the treatment failed, so Gabriel proposed that they instead deliver the baby early so that Neil could meet her.
Addison induced Margaret's labor and delivered her baby. They then took the baby to Neil's room and put her next to his face.
