Maya says the fire is moving in toward her and she didn't think she was going to get out. Andy told her to concentrate on everything she had to live for.

Carina holds Maya's hand as she labors.
Andy tells Maya help has arrived. Everyone ducks and a helicopter drops water.
As the smoke clears, everyone checks in. Maya emerges from the smoke. Andy asks if she needs to go to the medical tent, but she insists she's okay. She says they need to find Bill, but Andy says she already sent Vic and Sullivan. Andy asks Ross if she needs to go back to Command and Ross says she couldn't if she wanted to and will follow Andy's command. It's witching hour, meaning conditions are favorable for the fire to spread rapidly. Andy says they need to contain the fire before it goes over the mountains. If they miss the mark, the fire will hit Seattle. Vic radios that they found Bill. He's unconscious and injured. they need help. Andy says she and Maya will come and gives orders to the others.
Ben tells his sister to keep playing games with Pru and tell her Daddy's fine. He hangs up and checks on Theo. Karen says they're on their way to the OR for an exploratory laparotomy. Ben sends Theo off with well wishes.
Theo enters the beanery, where the rest of the team, plus Blanca and their son, are waiting with a cake for him.
Karen tells Ben they're going in, leaving Ben behind. Carina comes through the doors and asks Ben what happened. Ben says he was injured in the field. Carina asks if it's getting worse. Ben says it's brutal, but he knows she's really asking about Maya and he tells her she was fine when he left her. Carina sometimes likes to pretend Maya's a lawyer fighting injustice instead of fire. Ben says she and Bailey should talk. She admits that they do. Carina wishes she could go back out and volunteer, but with the increased risk of pre-term complications, she's not sure it's worth the risk. Ben realizes she's pregnant. She confirms that she is, but she wanted to tell Maya first, so she asks him not to say anything. Ben gets called away to a laboring woman trapped in a downed car. Ben says he has to stop by the station and then he can go. He congratulates Carina and leaves.
Beckett says there's a new fire a few miles away and the trees don't look healthy. Ross tries to call for another water drop, but gets no response on the radio. Dominic says Kate has a satellite phone, so Ross sends him and Travis to see if that will work while she and Beckett go to look for a way to make a break.
Andy and Maya find Bill, Vic, and Sullivan. Bill has burns on his right side, plus swelling in his knee and lacerations on his body, including to his head. They reassure him that Eliza is okay and tell him his whistle might have saved his life. They prepare to pick him up.
Carina finds Ben gathering supplies at the station and tells him she's coming with him. She got her patients covered and she won't let a living person die in favor of a currently non-viable fetus, even though she's already in love. He's a doctor, but he's not an OB, so she's going. Ben says if she's going, she needs to suit up first.
Carina pulls on brush gear and walks out.
Dominic says after this, he's buying a one-way ticket to see the world. He wants Travis to go with him because Vic's leaving. He says he's good. Dominic says he should look toward his future instead of his past. They argue about it until they reach Kate, who is still trying to save the camp building. Dominic wants to go see if she'll let them take the phone from her cold, dead hands, a remark Travis finds inappropriate given the circumstances. They watch as a fire tornado approaches. They try to call out to Kate, but she doesn't hear them. The tornado picks her up as she runs for cover. Then it throws her into the building and to the ground, killing her.
Dominic is horrified because he wished her dead. He starts to panic and Travis tells him they need to focus. They have to get over the ridge and look into the future.
Travis and Dominic look at art together and kiss. They walk to another work and find Vic. Dominic takes a picture of Travis and Vic in front of it.
Travis makes a run for it.
Ross and Beckett work. They notice the atypical wind pattern and Beckett points out the fire tornado. It sucks up their hose line. They try to pull it free.
Ben marries Ross and Sullivan as the team watches. Bailey puts down a broom for them to jump over.
The hose lifts Ross off the ground, so Beckett pulls her off. They decide to go back to the team.
Ben is shocked at how poor the air quality is so close to the city. Carina says they'll be lucky to find anything in this. Then she spots the car.
Andy tries to call for help evacuating Bill, but gets no response. Travis, Dominic, Ross, and Beckett meet up with them and tell them about the fire tornado. It's like nothing Ross has ever seen before. It took their hose and fried it. Dominic adds that it took Kate. As the canopy above them lights up, they move to a deployment area to deploy their fire shelters. Travis says Dominic can go with him.
They deploy their shelters and then everyone checks in. Travis asks if Dominic is good and Dominic says he preferred their first date.
Carina goes to the back seat and checks the door before opening it to reveal Freya. At the same time, Ben goes to the front to check on Scott. Freya's in active labor, so Carina says they need to get her to the hospital. She says it's too late for that. Carina checks and confirms that she's crowning. They have to deliver there. Ben looks around at the fire and says he'll do a burnout to give them more time.
Bill starts to panic and wants to leave. Sullivan says he spoke to Eliza and she wants him to be okay and it's way hotter outside the shelter than in it. They have to keep it together for the people they're going back for.
Sullivan presents Sankofa: Veterans to Firefighters with Eliza and Bill by his side. He and Ross cut the ribbon together.
Travis is surprised at how loud the fire is. Vic wonders if anyone has heard anything about Theo. Andy starts to reply, but the signal goes in and out. Ross hasn't heard anything. Travis says Theo saved him. Without him, he wouldn't be there with them, about to die in this fiery hell. Suddenly, something falls on Vic's shelter, collapsing it. She starts to panic, but Ross reminds her to re-secure her shelter and create an air pocket. Travis talks to her and she's able to calm down and tell herself she'll make it out.
Vic gives a presentation about Crisis One. In the audience, Travis, Andy, Beckett, and Diane cheer her on. Dean tells her she did it and he's proud of her.
Ross says the heat has died down, so she's going to check if it's safe. She tells them they're okay for the moment, so they need to assess their options and decide their next steps. Everyone calls out and they notice Andy is missing.
They search the area for Andy, but don't find her. Dominic wonders if she could have made it through the fire and Maya yells at him for implying that Andy's dead. Beckett wants to track back to a lake he saw, but Maya reminds him the map burned up while they were in their shelters. They have no radio communication. Sullivan says they need to stay calm because fighting with each other won't help. Ross says they need to find a way to a control line. They will use the fire shelter with the least damage as a shield. Maya says hers is in good condition. As Travis and Maya lift him, Bill asks if their plan is to walk through the fire. Travis says no, it's to run through the fire and says Maya's an Olympian.
Carina is bewildered that Ben is starting a fire to keep the fire out. He explains what he's doing and says he hopes it holds. Carina encourages Freya to push. Freya is angry that she let Scott convince her to have another child. Ben comes back and checks on Scott. Carina tells Freya the head is out and then the baby is delivered. Carina wipes the baby off and hands them to Freya. Ben adjusts the mirror so Scott can see Freya and the baby in the backseat.
Maya and Carina pose for pictures with Liam and Andrea. Peggy helps as Dayna takes the pictures.
Maya and Carina pose again with Liam, Andrea, and Gianna.
Freya holds her baby as the fire rages around them.
Ross says they'll shelter in the creek bed. Vic tells Bill he needs to get down as low as possible once they get there. They feel like the fire is following them, like it's personal. Maya says 19 dying in a fire can't be their legacy and it can't be Andy's legacy as captain. It's not fair. Beckett says none of it is fair. If Andy went for help, she had the right idea. He says all of them have someone waiting for them and he doesn't, so he's going to go for help. Everyone objects and Ross orders him to stay. He runs anyway.
Beckett and Jinny play pickleball against Sullivan and Ross. They celebrate a point with a kiss.
Beckett finds Elliott and his team and shows them the way. The rest of the team comes up behind him, saying they couldn't let him go alone. Elliott says Andy found them downstream and brought them there. Andy steps out of their truck with a hose. Elliott tells them the fire hasn't made it over the mountain yet, so if they grab some hoses, they can get it out.
Bill is loaded into an aid car as the team works to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading. Once they succeed, Ross radios that they've stopped the fire's spread. She learns that other groups have done the same in their areas. Ross tells everyone they did well and tamed the beast. Maya asks Andy what she was thinking. Just then, Andy collapses.
The team races Andy to an aid car and loads her. Then they all load up into the trucks.
Vic says she's going to miss Seattle. Travis says he's going to miss her. She reminds him that he can come with her, but he says he can't. His life is in Seattle.
At the hospital, Maya asks about Andy. Taryn hears this and says she's in stable condition. They can see her once she's out of the OR. They can't say much, but she's in serious condition. The rest of them need to get checked out as well. Taryn leads them to the people waiting to check on them. Maya gets held back when Carina and Ben come in with the baby. Carina says they need a warmer and a peds evaluation while Ben calls for two gurneys to bring in Freya and Scott. As the baby is handed off, Maya asks Carina why she's in brush gear. Carina says she'll tell her in a second and pulls her out to the ambulance bay. She says she had to go help Ben deliver a baby in the wildfire. When Carina doesn't say more, Maya tells her she's scaring her. Carina was scared for Maya out there. And for herself because she didn't want to be a single mom of two tiny babies. Maya is excited to hear that they're pregnant. They kiss to celebrate.
Andy sleeps in her hospital bed as the team comes in one by one. Sullivan brings in Jack, who came as soon as he was off shift. Ben explains that Andy had burns debrided in the OR and a lot of pulmonary treatments. Maya adds that she was dehydrated. They don't know how long she'll be in the hospital. Jack says the last time he was in the hospital, he came out not able to be a firefighter. Vic can't imagine 19 without Andy. Jack can't imagine his life without her.
Andy sits in her office. She hears her past self and past Jack talking and her finding the ring he was planning to use to propose to her. Andy takes the ring and Jack says they really messed things up. They kiss.
Andy wakes up and says she thinks she's okay. Maya asks her why she did that and Andy says she couldn't risk her team dying. Fire shelters aren't 100%. She followed the stream and ran into Elliott and his team. Ross thinks she should have notified someone and Maya adds that she would have gone with her, but that's why Andy couldn't. It's her responsibility to protect her team. Ben says his mom used to say you can be right and dead. Andy finds that funny coming from him. She'd do it ten times over if it meant being a hero to them. Jack says they always have her back. He holds her hand.
Three Months Later
In the beanery, Maya and Carina play with Liam. Pru colors at the table. There's a cake for Vic on the counter. Jack has made chili and Vic recognizes it as Dean's recipe. Andy tastes it and thinks Jack's might be better. Travis calls Vic over and shows her he brought her gas station sushi. She's happy and Ben is unhappy that she's more excited for that than his gumbo. Theo comes in with pierogis from Kaminski's. Vic hugs up and asks how rehab is going. He says he's getting through it. She tells him he has it. They agree they'll miss each other. Andy asks Theo when he's going to come back to 19. She thinks he was just feeling sorry for himself and she wants to work through things together. Ben asks Andy for a moment.
Ben leads Andy out to the roof. She already knows he's going to go back to finish his surgical residency. Between the injures and Bailey's anxiety, it's time. Andy says he's a great firefighter, but his love for medicine and helping people knows no bounds. They all have their calling. Ben says she's found hers. She's made 19 into something beautiful. She's her father's wildest dreams. Andy hugs him and says he'll always be part of 19. Ben says he's a doctor and Andy jokes about him never saying that before.
Ben and Bailey clap as Joey graduates from Seattle Central College.
Ben and Bailey clap as Tuck graduates from New York University.
Ben and Bailey clap as Pru graduates from the fire academy.
Ben goes back into the station.
Travis hands Vic a marker. Jack tells her she can't put it next to his. Everyone chants to encourage her until Carina shushes them and Maya checks on Liam. Vic finds it hard and starts to cry. Andy goes to her and they climb under the table together. The rest of the team joins them. Vic writes her name next to Jack's.
Vic arrives at her gate. She buys a coffee and a croissant. She goes to sit down and Travis, who is sitting on the opposite side from her, says they're going to make her check her bag. He realized his life is wherever she is. He moves to sit next to her and tells her he'll figure things out with Dominic. He takes her coffee and she says he'll hate it. He takes a sip and grimaces.
Travis's name is written next to Vic's.
The Future
Maya exits her office and calls for 19 to line up. She tells her team, among them Maritza Zamora, Matthew Richards, and Pru, that they're meeting their new fire chief today. They represent the station, so they must look sharp.
Andy gives a speech about 19, saying it's an idea, not the building or the captain. It's being of service and community. It's good and selflessness that they put into the world. She congratulates them on being part of that legacy. Just then, the team gets called out. They hesitate until she tells them to go.
After they're gone, Andy looks at the picture of her dad and then leaves the station.

Rescues[]
Fall City Wildfire[]
Maya was trapped by flames on all sides. Andy led the team to look for possible ways out. Finally, a water drop cleared the flames around them. Maya insisted she was fine to continue working. Andy then said it was witching hour, which meant time was of the essence as conditions were good for the fire to spread. She said if they could knock it down in the south and west, they could beat it. She had sent Vic and Sullivan to find Bill and they located him. He was unconscious. Andy and Maya went to help extricate him while Larsson, Wiggins, and Cutler took the probies and initiated a firing out. Bill had lacerations to his body and swelling in his right knee in addition to his burns. Everyone else cut a scratch line on the west-facing slope. Another fire started in the brush a few miles away, so Ross attempted to call for another water drop, but got response, so she sent Travis and Dominic to try to use the satellite phone to reach incident command. When they got to Kate, a fire tornado approached her and swept her up before she could get to safety. Beckett and Ross lost a hose line to the fire tornado as well. They left the area, knowing it wasn't safe. When the canopy above them lit up, they moved to a deployment zone and deployed their fire shelters. Something fell on Vic's shelter and her arm caught on fire. She was able to re-secure her shelter and create an air pocket. When the heat died down, Ross checked and said it was safe for the others to come out. They quickly discovered that Andy was not with them. They disagreed about what to do next, so Ross took command and said they'd find a route to a control line. They used a shelter as a shield and moved to a creek bed, where they sheltered in place. Beckett said he didn't have anyone waiting for him, so he was going to make a run for it to find help. Ross ordered him not to, but he defied her and went anyway, followed by the others. They found Captain Henderson and his team and led them back to the team. They also had Andy with them. With their help, they were able to contain the fire and get Bill into an aid car. They reported in and learned that other teams were also reporting significant containment. Soon after this, Andy collapsed. They got her into an aid car and sent her to the hospital. Taryn said she was in stable condition, but she was in the OR. She was severely dehydrated, had her burns debrided in the OR, and received pulmonary treatments.
Freya and Scott[]
Ben and Carina responded to a call of a downed car with a laboring woman inside. They found the car with difficulty and Carina said they needed to get her to the hospital. Freya told them there wasn't time as she was crowning. As Ben checked on Scott, Carina said they'd have to deliver. Ben did a burnout around them to give them some protection from the fire. The baby was safely delivered and Carina handed them to Freya. Then they took the family to the hospital.
