Patty is a woman who had an abortion that failed.
History[]
Patty came into the practice to see Addison. While riding up to the practice in the elevator with Addison, Patty vomited. Addison gave her an antiemetic and examined her. Patty said that she'd had an abortion two months prior. She tried to go to a clinic, but there were protesters outside. She then had a hard time finding a doctor to do it. Addison did an ultrasound and found that Patty was still pregnant. She was at 19 weeks.
Addison explained to her how it could have happened. Patty asked her to do another abortion, but Addison explained that it was now a much more complicated procedure. Addison said they could talk about other options, but Patty said she'd considered them the last time.
When Patty returned, Addison was at the hospital, so Naomi offered to let Patty wait in her office. Patty talked to Naomi about the plan she had. Naomi told her no one was ever ready to have a baby. Naomi talked to Patty about the fetus's anatomy and asked her to consider carrying to term.
Addison visited Patty at work, saying it was her decision and she needed to make it herself. She said whatever decision Patty made needed to be for her and Addison would do the abortion or help her place it for adoption, whichever she chose.
Patty chose to have the second abortion and Addison did the surgery.
