History[]
Patty was injured in a car accident when she was five. Her knee was badly injured and needed to be reconstructed. However, before her surgery, her mother brought her to the practice, said she was going to get money, and left her there. Cooper, concerned that she wouldn't get the surgery if she were turned over to social services because it was elective, attempted to find her parents. Violet talked to Patty about her home life and determined that her home life seemed healthy.
While they looked for her parents, Cooper gave Patty a shot to help with her pain.
He finally found Patty's parents at her aunt Katie's house. He talked to them and they said that Patty's injury had ruined them and the bills were piling up. He told them they didn't deserve her and left.
Back at the practice, he told Patty that her parents weren't coming.
He then went to Charlotte, asking her to ensure that Patty got her surgery before she was handed over to DCFS. Her surgery went well and afterward, they called Michelle to come take care of her.
