History[]
Raphael went to the top floor of a parking structure with a bottle of gin a week after his best friend's dead. He'd been told he was in heart failure and there was nothing doctors could do to save him. The paring structure was a place he used to go with his dad, where they would watch fireworks and listen to concerts, until his dad died suddenly when he was fourteen. At some point, mall employees saw him and called Crisis One. Andy, Sullivan, and Clarke responded. While Clarke and Andy talked to him, Sullivan prepared the harness. He explained that he was dying and he wanted to do it on his terms rather than waiting for a slow, painful death. Andy tried to connect with him by telling him her mother had faked her death to get away from her and her father. Despite this, her dad would want her to fight if he knew she was sick. Raphael told her there was nothing left to fight for.
Raphael climbed onto the hood of his car and told them about his friend's death. At this point, Ross connected Raphael to a call at his work, where they needed his palm to override the system and free some trapped workers. Andy told Raphael that his people were in trouble and he panicked and moved too quickly, slipping off the edge. Sullivan dove and was able to grab him before he fell. Suspended over the edge, Raphael frantically told Sullivan he didn't want to die like that. With Clarke's help, Andy lowered them down to the next level, where she pulled them to safety. Then they drove Raphael to the plant, where he helped them open the doors.
Once everyone was evacuated, Rachael told his co-worker, Liz, that it was his fault. She said it wasn't his fault, but blamed herself. He said it was the management's fault and he pledged to spend the time he had left making them pay.

His father died in front of him when he was fourteen. After that, his mother told him his father was with God when he became upset over his father's death.

His friend who got him the job at the factory also became ill due to the chemical exposure and died a week before his own suicide attempt.
