Ray Pelletier questioned Mike as part of the investigation into the mall explosion.

Mall Explosion[]
Ray was sent to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital to question Mike after video footage showed that Mike and his friend were in proximity of the source of the explosion in the moments before it happened. Even though Meredith Grey informed Ray that Mike’s eardrums were ruptured and he probably couldn’t hear, Ray continued to try to question him. Mike collapsed and was taken into surgery over Ray’s protests. When Mike came out of surgery, Ray tried again to question him before getting a phone call that informed him that the explosion was not a bombing.
