Robel Osman is the mayor of Seattle.

History[]

Mayoral Race[]

Osman was running for mayor and participated in a town hall with Travis Montgomery and Michael Dixon, the other two candidates. He spoke about his plans for the city, then Dixon stepped up and asked why, in all his years on city council, Osman never attempted to execute any of his plans. ("It's All Gonna Break")

With the polls indicating that he and Travis were splitting the progressive vote, leaving the possibility that Dixon could beat both of them, Osman contacted Eli and prepared to conceded to Travis if Travis could give him some guarantees. Travis thought about it and instead decided to concede to Osman with some conditions of his own, including increasing the fire department's budget and giving Eli a job. Osman agreed. ("Get It All Out")

At the end of election day, the race was called for Osman. ("All These Things That I've Done")

Firefighters' Ball[]

As mayor-elect, Osman attended the Firefighter's Ball. At the ball, Andy came to him and tried to make a case for Ross to remain fire chief despite the scandal she was involved in. He told Andy it wasn't personal, but he needed to do what was best for the whole city. She reminded him that they elected him to be different and shake things up. Before she could say more, Drew Farris came to Osman and pulled him away to talk. ("Glamorous Life")

Visiting Ross[]

Osman visited Natasha Ross, who was injured, in the hospital. He told her he wouldn't be replacing her and then spoke to the press to share the same message with the public. ("This Woman's Work")

Fabruary Pride[]

Osman attended Fabruary Pride, where he rode in a car with Ross. While they were riding, Osman told Ross that she had to cut 10% of the fire department's budget, despite pledging to increase the budget. He threatened to replace her if she couldn't do so. When a car backfired, a security guard who mistook it for gunshots had the drive get the mayor out of the area immediately. ("True Colors")

Space Needle Fire[]

After Station 19 successfully put out a fire at the Space Needle, Osman held a press conference to commend them. While he was highlighting a rescue from an elevator 500 feet in the air, Victoria Hughes interrupted, saying that Osman was cutting Crisis One, a program designed to help the citizens of Seattle. She was immediately silenced. ("My Way")

Osman wanted Vic fired and met with Ross to discuss it. Ross maintained that Vic was indispensable to the department and so was Crisis One, while Osman said that she'd trained enough people to do what she does and he feels that the department wouldn't miss her. Ross told Osman that she knew that he resented Vic because she stood up to the money guys that he campaigned against while he was unable to do that himself. She warned him not to fire the people who are on his side to appease those who aren't as that's how you lose everything. In response, Osman called her insubordinate. At the end of the day, Ross made a deal with Osman that allowed Vic to keep her job as well along with Crisis One being saved for the immediate future. ("With So Little to Be Sure Of")
