Ruth is the wife of Casey.
History[]
When Ruth's husband, Casey, was burned while fighting a wildfire, she was called to the hospital. Before she went in to see him, Maggie Pierce told her she needed to prepare herself because his injuries were so severe. She understood that Casey was going to die. She went into his room and told him she loves him and their kids love him and asked if this was the one. She sat with him while he died of his injuries.

She was married to Casey until his death. Due to his work as a firefighter, they knew that it was likely he would end up dying in the performance of his duties.

She and her husband have two children, Doug and Susan. When Ruth got the call about Casey, she called the kids and said that their father loves them and they told her they love him, too.
