Ryan Crawford is a kid with SCID who wanted to go to a school dance.
History[]
Ryan was born with SCID. Cooper made a house call to see him. He said that he wanted to go to the homecoming dance the next day because his girlfriend, Kelli, was going, as was a guy named Francis Stokes. Because Ryan's counts were borderline, Cooper asked Pete to come in and help give him a boost so he could get to the dance.
After the boost, his count was just barely over the limit. However, his mother had a fever, so he was told he wouldn't be able to go.
Ryan's mother later called and said that Ryan and his suit were missing. Pete and Cooper went to the dance at Ryan's school and found Ryan dancing with Kelli. They said he needed to leave with them. Ryan apologize to Kelli and told her to stay and have fun. She said it was okay and she'd visit him later. As they walked out, Ryan was upset because he hadn't even gotten to kiss her. He abruptly turned around and went back to give Kelli a kiss. When they went to leave a second time, Ryan collapsed.
They rushed him to the ER, where they used a cooling blanket to bring his fever down and moved him to isolation. Kelli came to visit him in the hospital and held his hand.
