History[]
Sierra came to the hospital because she was 11 weeks pregnant and had been spotting. She wasn't sure of the exact details because she was so busy taking care of her kids. Jules Millin examined her and then paged OB. Jo did an ultrasound and said the pregnancy was healthy as was her cervix, but she was dehydrated, so Jo told Jules to give her IV fluids and discharge her. When Jules came back to check on her when her IV was nearly completed, Sierra admitted that she was relieved to have been spotting because she had experienced severe postpartum depression after both her previous pregnancies and wanted to be healthy for the two children she already had. She asked Jules how much an abortion cost. Jules told her the reproductive health clinic provided abortion services on a sliding scaled and asked if Sierra wanted her to call them. Sierra went to the clinic, where Jo did a surgical abortion on her. During the procedure, Sierra talking on the phone with her husband, who was upset he was unable to be there.
