- He can only be seen in the promotional photos of Piece of My Heart; his scenes were removed from the episode.
- Curiously, he is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons but not a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, despite the fact that he is Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Additionally, Dr. Thomas is the only head attending who has the department head title embroidered on his lab coat and have the title on the second line of his ID badge.
- With the introduction of Dr. Kate Lachman, it is confirmed that he no longer holds the position.
