Emma Marling[]
So... it doesn't really say that she's an attending. In GA's history, whenever they've made mention of MFM, it's in the context of a fellowship. Even in PP, Addison refers to an MFM-specialist who's completed the fellowship as a perinatologist (e.g. Hoyt). Is it really safe to say that Marling is an attending perinatologist? I would think she's more of an MFM fellow, like Fields. I know the context of her "pitching to the board" seems to make her more senior, but MFM fellows are senior doctors given that they've completed their residencies and are OB attendings. Thoughts?

When Callie referred to Emma as a fetal surgeon, it confirmed, at least to me, that Emma is an attending. The only other two fetal surgeons were Addison and Vivian, both of whom have completed their MFM-fellowships and hold attending-status in perinatology. Plus, Lucy, who was an MFM-fellow, was never referred to as a fetal surgeon.

UW[]
Did it actually say that she graduated from UW? The transcript just says she went to Cleveland Clinic after leaving UW, but it didn't say that she graduated from there. It then goes on to say she left Cleveland Clinic after only a year, indicating that it wasn't a residency, because leaving if it were a residency would be harder. She went from Cleveland Clinic to Seattle Pres, where she was an attending. To me, all signs point to UW was either where she did her residency or a place where she worked after completing it. She also is a fetal surgeon, as stated in the discussion above, and if I remember correctly from S11, a fetal surgery fellowship takes a year. So maybe it's possible she also did her fellowship there? Tooniee (Page me!) 08:32, December 29, 2015 (UTC)
