Graduate School[]
When he was in graduate school, he told his dissertation chair that he wanted to study the impact of climate change on global migration, an inter-disciplinary study. And he did it, even though it meant a lot of long nights, instead of the atmospheric effect of moss, which is what she wanted him to study. ("Should I Stay or Should I Go")
Laura's Surgery[]
Todd came to the hospital with his sister, Laura, when she was scheduled to have a mitral valve repair. She was also 22 weeks pregnant and he'd been to all of her appointments. While she went to have her surgery, he waited in the waiting room, watching a show and eating chips. When Jo came to tell him that they'd been unable to complete her procedure due to a complication and it would have to be rescheduled, she also asked him if he'd want to go get a drink with her. He accepted and at the end of the day, they left the hospital together. ("Put the Squeeze On Me")
When Laura's surgery was rescheduled, he bought her a fruit basket. Laura reminded him that she couldn't eat before surgery, so he gave the basket to Jo instead. He then asked her to have dinner. She declined, because she had to focus on studying for her annual OB/GYN resident exam, but accepted the gifts and study snacks he brought. ("Road Trippin'")
Helping Jo[]
Laura made cookies, which Todd brought to the hospital for Jo. While he was there, they made a plan to go to Joe's after she was finished with work. At Joe's, Jo told him and Link that Bailey had begged her to come back to general surgery. She was torn between her passion for OB/GYN and wanted to honor Bailey. Todd suggested that she could do both, doing her residency during the day and moonlighting in general surgery. Link offered to help with Luna to facilitate this. Todd offered to help as well, but realized how odd that was and rescinded his offer. ("Should I Stay or Should I Go")

When they had sex and Todd stayed over for the first time, Todd woke up Luna when he sang during his orgasm. The next morning, Todd walked Jo and Luna all the way to the door of the hospital, holding an umbrella to keep them dry. He later visited the hospital to bring Jo a bear, but she said it wasn't working for her and ended things between them. He handed the bear to a nearby custodian and left the hospital. Familial[]
When his sister decided to have a baby on her own, he was immediately supportive and drew up a spreadsheet for her, on which he tracked everything related to her pregnancy.
