Tufts Medical Center is a teaching hospital located in Boston, Massachusetts.

Maggie completed her general surgery residency and presumably also her cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Tufts, where she stayed on as an attending cardiothoracic surgeon[1] before moving to Seattle and becoming Department Head of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.[2] Winston was one of her residents and developed a crush on her. When they reconnected years later at a conference, they fell in love and Winston asked her to move back to Boston with him. She asked for time to think it over[1] but their plans were interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic, forcing them to rely on video chats to stay in touch.[3]
