History[]
Vaughn was competing in an air guitar competition when he climbed some scaffolding his friend had built and fell off, landing on his girlfriend, Joni Filson, injuring both of them and impaling Vaughn on a pole. They were taken to the hospital, where he became unstable in the ER and was taken directly into surgery. He nearly lost his kidney due to the trauma, but the doctors were able to save it. After his surgery, he was stable and awake. He was able to FaceTime with Joni, who played air guitar for him.
