The Veterans Rehabilitation Center is a medical facility focused on the treatment and rehabilitation of veterans including Navy Seals, Green Berets, Army Rangers, and other wounded warriors from the most specialized ops forces in the U.S. Military.
History[]
Owen Hunt brought Callie Torres to the rehab center so she could give a speech on residual limb health. However, the true purpose was for Hunt to convince Torres to take on a patient for her robotic limb project. After meeting with Jeff, a U.S. Army soldier currently being treated at the rehab center, Hunt transferred him to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital for further testing, despite Torres' reservations. Despite not initially being eligible, with Jackson Avery's assistance, Jeff was able to receive the robotic leg.[1]
After the success with Jeff, additional patients for the robotic limb project were selected from this facility, including Jordan and Rick.[2]
