Vince Beckett is Sean Beckett's uncle.

History[]

Vince came into the station seeking help with some burns on his chest. He was also drunk, but said that's not why he was there and only needed them to treat his burns. He couldn't tell them how he got the burns as he was blackout drunk and had woken up with them a few weeks prior. He expected them to heal and start to hurt less, but they hadn't, so he came to the clinic. When they examined him, they said excessive alcohol consumption could slow the healing process and also noted that his abdomen was swollen. Ben suggested he go to the ER to get the fluid drained from his abdomen after they were finished treating his burns, but he refused, saying that ERs were a direct route to detox. Even after he started coughing up blood, he refused to go. Sean Beckett, his nephew, went in to see him, saying the family was worried about him because they hadn't seen him in years. Vince brushed off his concerns and said he didn't want to trouble any of them. He insisted that he didn't want help. Once his burns were treated, Vince got up to leave, telling Beckett not to tell anyone in the family as he didn't want them to worry. Beckett said they were beyond that. Vince warned Beckett not to look for comfort in a bottle, because the men in their family were cursed with drink. As Vince went to leave, he collapsed and had a seizure. They took him to the hospital, where he was admitted for observation.

Vince later died of his alcoholism. ("Good Grief")
